THE AURA EVERY DAY

Although very subtle, auric vibrations are phenomena we are all familiar with. We speak of liking and disliking a person’s ‘vibe’ and we speak of positive vibrations. This is the sense of energy we get when meeting people – we literally step into their aura and feel the energy. The aura is also evident when we talk with people. We do not go right up to someone’s face and begin talking into it, instead we leave a comfortable distance around the person. Some people we feel closer to than others and we step comfortably into their aura and feel safe. We hold an unconscious awareness that people extend beyond the physical body. Performing everyday actions such as relating with people is dependent on us sensing the aura around them.

Communication is approximately 10% verbal, the rest is non-verbal. Part of non-verbal communication is sensing a person’s aura, feeling the vibration and judging how then to relate. We may even say a person has a nice aura about them. Such expressions are not confined to esoteric use but are found in common language.

Colour and projection within the aura are different for each individual, and change constantly. We all try to sense the right moment to approach a loved one for a favour and know when to stay away. They do not have to say anything; we sense the changes in their aura.

Events, people and environments can affect energy. All experiences leave lasting imprints on the aura. Trauma, for example, can create spaces or holes in the aura, and a subsequent loss of energy called ‘leaking’. The body and energy fields contract in response to trauma in an attempt to prevent energy leaking. Chronic contraction interrupts full expansion and disturbs the natural rhythm we need in order to maintain health. Pleasure and love have an expansive effect on the aura, which can help to repair some of the damage caused by trauma.

Everything we do has a consequence on the aura. Diet, lifestyle and the company we keep all cause vibrations throughout our energy fields. Thoughts have a very powerful impact on our energy. ‘Energy follows thought’ is one of the basic laws. Through our thoughts we are capable of changing our lives. Therefore, we must be vigilant and think with awareness. A negative belief can manifest just as easily as an affirmative thought. The universe supports ‘My life will never change’, just as easily as ‘Things are going to improve for me’. The choice is yours. You are gifted with a high level of consciousness, so you can make choices. When you truly Open to Spirit, help is available to you. As director of your life story, you have the ability to rewrite the script and make changes; this is your ‘responsibility’.

People we spend time with affect our auras. Some people leave us feeling tired and drained, while others help us to feel uplifted and joyful. This positive effect is utilized in healing. A healer’s vibration will affect the vibration of the client. It follows that a client will be uplifted in the presence of a healer who is vibrating positively and fully. The responsibility is with healers to be aware of their own well being in order to be of help to others.

We each know of situations when someone has entered our space feeling down and giving off negative energy. If we are not careful, we also begin to feel the same negativity. On the spiritual path it is sometimes necessary to make new fields and let go of people who do not support your growth.

We can feel our energy lowered in certain places where the energetic frequency is low. Likewise, our energy can be lifted in specific environments. We often experience a sense of expansion when we get out of the city and into the countryside. This is why people enjoy spending time by the sea, or up in the mountains. People take pleasure from being outside in open spaces because their aura is allowed to expand. This is also the reason for needing to get outside after being in a building all day or for going to the country after being in the city for a while. The aura actually requires more space. Auric energy is very subtle, but by improving your awareness it is possible to interact more consciously with auras in everyday life.
